Have a happy weekend.

Posted on 14:47 by gaurav kumar
What are you up to this weekend? My cousin Jeremy and his girlfriend are visiting, so we have some little adventures planned. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and here are a few great posts from around the web...

Wes Anderson's inspiration.

Vogue's June issue has a rad wedding shoot.

Ballerina spotting in New York!

Funny money.

One tank getaways for seven cities.

Polaroid photographers plead their case. (Go Porter!)

Reading rainbow.

Beautiful wedding dress.

Kate just opened a pretty etsy shop.

Four people squeeze into a genius 700-square-foot apartment.

Vintage sunglasses and shark pants!

Brooklyn-based Bamboo Bikes Studio has a weekend-long workshop where you build your own bike with bamboo, a renewable resource. How amazing would that be?

A sweet image of model Natalia Vodianova and her daughter.

The 10 best lobster shacks in Maine. Yummy.

Alex wrote about how "nice" is back. Agreed!

Plus, four videos:

Fifth graders rock.

New Jersey in the summer.

The Black Hole.

Paris + a rooftop + a song.

Feeling Smitten...

Posted on 06:19 by gaurav kumar
My dolls, here's a weekly round-up from Smitten, my Glamour Magazine relationships blog...

Do you want to have a baby by a certain age?

What was your first word?

An adorable love tee.

Whose hand do you want to hold right now?

Bridesmaid dress horror stories.

What size bed do you have?

Who watches more TV: you or your man?

Reader's dilemma: "I'm awkward around my boyfriend's friends."

Help! What cheers you up when you're cranky?

High schools are outlawing hugging!

Do you and your boyfriend share a bank account?

Do you ever eat your boyfriend's food?

Sexy outfits--thoughts?

New Yorkers at Home

Posted on 13:47 by gaurav kumar
A few weeks ago, the incredibly sweet French photographer Valerie Dray came to our apartment to take photos of Alex and me for her Men's Style story, 15 Creative New Yorkers. We were so honored to be included! A few others who were in the piece...
Brooke Williams, a photographer, writer and former Domino editor, and her husband Josh Liberson of Helicopter graphic design, and their adorable daughter Ada.Kendra, a prop stylist, and her husband Seth, a photographer, and their sweet little girl Stella.
Hollister Hovey, a blogger and publicist, and her sister Porter Hovey, a photographer. I'm in awe of their fabulous Williamsburg apartment.

See the full slideshow here. Thank you again, Valerie! It was really fun!

Dish towels

Posted on 14:53 by gaurav kumar
When I was little, I felt so bad for my mom when she got things like soap and tea towels for Christmas. How sad! I thought. But now that I'm a grown-up, I understand the appeal. Don't you love these dish towels from Tas-ka?

What are you up to this long weekend? This afternoon I hung out with the lovely Caroline, and tomorrow Alex and I are going to Prospect Park. Hope you have a fun and sunny weekend! Meanwhile, here are some great posts from around the web this week...

Sometimes the yummiest desserts are the easiest.

Giggly engagement photos. (What a cute hair cut!)

An inspirational quote for planners like myself.

A mustachioed puppy.

Peacock wedding dress insanity.

Loving Royal Buffet's etsy shop, especially the butterfly gift tags.

Pretty tea towels. And this dish towel makes me laugh.

Funny bento box.

The blog Pretty Good makes me swoon.

Smooch!

* Plus, three videos:

Kate has the best voice.

Arizona State snubs Obama. (The Daily Show = hilarious.)

Have a wonderful weekend. xo

Feeling Smitten...

Posted on 07:00 by gaurav kumar
My dears, here's a weekly round-up of Smitten, my Glamour Magazine relationships blog...

Wedding do or don't: Would you have male bridesmaids?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how comfortable do you feel in a bathing suit?

Recession question: What do you refuse to skimp on?

Would you spend a month alone in Sweden? (I would!)

Which celebrity can you imagine dating?

What puzzles you or drives you crazy about men and their bodies?

Do you ever sleepwalk or sleeptalk?

One reader's horribly awkward sexual experience...

Have you read any good books lately?

Do guys like the way you dress?

Which of these three colorful dresses would you wear on a date?

One woman's super romantic letter to her husband.

Have you ever been robbed?

Cheap date idea: Bust out the yearbooks!

Would you wear this magic bra?

Do you keep your eyes open or shut when you kiss?

How are you feeling these days? Happy? Sad? Sleepy? Goofy?

As always, find much more on Smitten. Thank you. xo

Elopement

Posted on 11:42 by gaurav kumar
Shana and her fiance were madly in love but didn't want a giant wedding. So they decided to elope to North Carolina...
They brought along a wreath and fresh flowers.
They said their vows in a teeny chapboard church.
Their witnesses were Bobbi and Elbert from Mississippi. "We found them in the campsite restrooms where we got dressed," says Shana. "They LOVED getting to sit in the back row as we were married."
Wishing them a happily ever after. Isn't that romantic? See more on Frolic.

Wine tip

Posted on 09:00 by gaurav kumar
Last night, I biked over to the lovely Jennifer's house for thai food. I brought a bottle of white wine, but it was warm by the time I arrived. Jen's clever solution? Wrap a wet paper towel around it and stick it in the freezer. Ten minutes later, it was perfectly chilled. Genius!

Honeymoon clothes

Posted on 08:51 by gaurav kumar
A few weeks ago, Abbey told me that before she went on her honeymoon, she bought a few new skirts and dresses. "I felt really sexy the whole time," she said. Clothes can sometimes be important in that way, don't you think? Since then, I've been eyeing the Toast catalog. Their clothes are so relaxed and feminine, and the photos make me feel like I'm already on vacation!

Have a beautiful weekend.

Posted on 14:27 by gaurav kumar
What are your plans this weekend? Alex and I found ourselves in a funny predicament: Our travel plans fell through, but we had already rented out our apartment! We're now staying at a friend's house in Brooklyn. I'm excited for our little adventure! Meanwhile, here are a few great posts from around the web this week...

Turn around! What's your shadow doing?

Looking for a new summer drink?

Heidi Klum's tips on how to look good in photos. I trust her.

Nice packaging, H&M tights.

Liking ships in bottles.

The prettiest pregnancy photos.

Love is multi-faceted.

Curls.

How to make a duvet cover from sheets. Nice!

New Yorkers, the Steven Alan Sample Sale is this weekend.

Rad tapestry backpack.

Feeling Smitten...

Posted on 05:30 by gaurav kumar
My dears, here's a weekly round-up of Smitten, my Glamour Magazine relationships blog...

Tell me a fun fact about your name! (Everyone has one.)

Would you rather have a small wedding or giant wedding?

Um, have you ever drooled on your boyfriend?

Do you have orgasms during sex?

Are you chatty? Could you be silent for a whole day?

Dating do or don't: Rompers.

Poll: Do your parents care how much money your man makes?

How old were you when you had your first boyfriend? Here's mine...

Poll: Is Michael Cera hot or not?

Which of these three J. Crew outfits would you wear on a date?

Reader's Dilemma: "My family keeps asking when I'm getting married. What do I say?"

How would you feel if a guy went to Vegas with his friends? (Be honest.)

We chose our wedding rings.

Whatever happened to your first love?

We sent two cuties on a blind date. Here's what he said, and here's what she said.

What are three things you're looking forward to?

As always, find much more on Smitten. Thank you. xo

* and this tattoo of Henry Darger's Vivian Girls?
